Health Plus was established some 15 years ago by renowned nutritionist Patrick Holford, who then went on to form the Institute for Optimum Nutrition. After several ownership changes, Health Plus was bought by its present owners in November 1991. Health Plus has always had a close association with nutritionists and therapists. Health Plus is a small family-owned business, whose managing director has a long background in health food manufacturing. The company has a long-term close association with Seaford Laboratories, a major health food manufacturer, with whom it shares a common director. Health Plus also purchases specialist products from other major international manufacturing companies. Health Plus supplies a wide range of high quality nutritional supplements at very competitive prices. As well as the standard pots of single products they have developed a range of ‘Daily Dose’ products, consisting of several tablets / capsules in a convenient daily sachet, aimed at providing the necessary nutrients for specific nutritional needs. These products also include a range of sports supplements developed to be promoted to all sports people, both amateur and professional along with a range of herbal products. Health Plus has, over the years, developed a more subtle display orientated house style for its products, and the company is now becoming more pro-active in terms of its sales approach. To help service customer demands and to allow for future expansion Health Plus moved into new, larger premises in December 1995. Since then the range has grown significantly and the new image has become widely recognised for Quality and Service. As part of its ongoing campaign to promote the benefits of optimum nutrition to the general public Health Plus provides a health and nutrition related Monthly 'News Item’ to a wide range of national magazines and newspapers.
