Flaxseed oil is taken from the seeds of the flax plant and is a naturally rich source of Alpha-linolenic acid, a member of the Omega-3 essential fatty acid family. Omega-3 fatty acids are termed essential because they cannot be manufactured by the body and must be obtained through the diet. They play a number of important roles in the body and are beneficial in helping to maintain healthy joints.

Flax oil contains alpha-linolenic acid, the parent of the Omega-3 essential fatty acid family. In order for the body to use alpha-linolenic acid, it must be converted into EPA and DHA. The Omega-3 essential fatty acids found in cods liver and oily fish are in the form of EPA and DHA and are therefore a more reliable source. However, traditional Omega-3 supplements may not be suitable for vegetarians or people who do not like oily fish.

Directions: take 1 or 2 capsules with liquid each day.
